Accomplishments
The staff of WIIS bring a wealth of experience and expertise to this field. Some of our accomplishments include:
Staff served as part of a consultant team with Salt Lake Theological Seminary for the Bridges educational DVD and workbook resource to assist in a culturally-sensitive understanding of the Mormon Church.
Staff served as part of the consultant team with Salt Lake Theological Seminary for input in the production of Grounded, an educational DVD and workbook resource for Christian youth to aid in their understanding of their Latter-day Saint friends.
Co-editing and co-authoring Encountering New Religious Movements: A Holistic Evangelical Approach (Kregel Academic & Professional, 2004), a cross-cultural missions approach to new religions with an international collection of scholars and specialists. This book won the 2005 Christianity Today Book of the Year Award in the category of missions and global affairs.
Co-edited/co-authored Lausanne Committee for World Evangelization issue paper on “The Church and the New Spiritualities in the Western World”.
Continuing work as delegates and strategy leaders for the Lausanne Committee for World Evangelization group on new religious movements in the Western World.
Served as editor and project coordinator for the forthcoming book, Beyond the Burning Times: A Pagan and Christian in Dialogue (Lion, June 2008).
